EverGreen/400 allows any existing 5250 non-programmable workstation to act as a full e-mail capable terminal. AS/400 users are able to send and receive all kinds of information using today's powerful e-mail capabilities.
An overview of the supported features :
This optional feature provides 5250 access to the calendars of Lotus Domino . Green screen users are able to participate in the powerful calendaring and scheduling environment of Lotus Domino.
The Domino Calendar Interface Feature offers the following functions:
Calendar ProfilesEvery user has a Calendar Profile which contains some of the properties of the calendar like: default time and date format, business hours, access restrictions, etc.
A user is able to define which other users get access to his calendar information and what level of access is granted. The same way a user might be able to access other people's calendars.
A user's calendar can be displayed in different ways, called views. Depending on the amount of information which needs to be shown, different views can be used:
Some of these views show a visual representation (called busy bars) of the available free time.
Different types of calendar items can be managed and processed:
The processing of an invitation (Accept, Decline,...) is integrated with the e-mail capabilities of the EverGreen/400 Base product.
All actions performed by EverGreen/400 users are automatically reflected on the Domino side, and vice versa. This is a two-way process which has been designed for optimal performance and reliability.
This optional feature of EverGreen/400 allows users to communicate with remote servers accessible through a LAN connection.
Remote servers
Besides the standard server support for Lotus Domino for AS/400 and AnyMail/400 installed on the same system as EverGreen/400, this feature allows users to connect to other servers on remote systems. Some examples : Lotus Domino on another AS/400, Microsoft Exchange on a PC based server, any standard POP3/SMTP server on any platform.
This optional toolkit of EverGreen/400 includes a powerful set of Application Program Interfaces (API) that allows you to handle e-mail messages directly from any user-written AS/400 application.
The API's are packaged as separate callable programs to allow integration with programs written in most supported programming languages on the iSeries, such as RPG/400, Cobol, CL, C, C++, Java and ILE versions of these programming languages.
Evergreen is not only capable of sending out emails, it's also possible to detect inbound mails and integrate them in an automated process.
Currently, the following API's are available :
