While System i power users prefer green screen interfaces, administrative people or business executives, feel more comfortable using MS Word.

DTM offers a character based interface as well as MS Word editing. This allows your business people to design their documents, while you maintain the scalability and performance of System i.

The 5250 User Interface of DTM for iSeries provides a character based interface for users of NPT's (Non Programmable Terminals) or 5250 emulation sessions.

A number of commands and screens are available to work with DTM documents. The document functions available include create, rename, display, print, delete and so on.

The 5250 User Interface also includes a complete character based word processor. The functionality of this 5250 editor is very similar to the functions available in the old OV/400 word processor. The new editor includes different formatting functions and supports all Data/Text Merge instructions.

This interface is available in English, French and German.

The MS Word User Interface(*) of DTM for iSeries combines the powerful Data/Text Merge functions of DTM with the popular MS Word word-processor. The creation and editing of documents is done from a Windows based workstation, while the merge, print, resolve and export operations of DTM documents continue to take advantage of the scalability and performance of the AS/400.

The MS Word User Interface is a Windows application that serves as the front-end to the merge and print components running on the AS/400.
