The 5250 User Interface also includes a complete character based word processor. The functionality of this 5250 editor is very similar to the functions available in the old OV/400 word processor. The new editor includes different formatting functions and supports all Data/Text Merge instructions.

The MS Word User Interface(*) of DTM for iSeries combines the powerful Data/Text Merge functions of DTM with the popular MS Word word-processor. The creation and editing of documents is done from a Windows based workstation, while the merge, print, resolve and export operations of DTM documents continue to take advantage of the scalability and performance of the AS/400.
The MS Word User Interface is a Windows application that serves as the front-end to the merge and print components running on the AS/400.
